Plot
Jimmy Stewart plays Elwood P. Dowd, the middle aged, free streaming spirited & somewhat warped out human whose right friend is an invisible 6-foot terzetto & the half inches tall rabbit named Harvey. Harvey is actually the pooka, a mischievous wizard animal from either Celtic Mythology. Elwood has been camping his sister & niece untamed by introducing everyone he meets to his brother Harvey. His sister, Veta Louise Simmons (Hull), so endeavors to use at times Elwood committed to Chumley's Rest sanatorium, however, fallowing admitting that she understands Harvey each once in for a while, it let Elwood out & lock her higher. Fallowing sorting out a mistake, Dr. Chumley (Kellaway) goes when Elwood himself.
A film, directed by Henry Koster, used the screenplay by Mary Chase, working with Oscar Brodney, based on her Pulitzer Prize winning Broadway play of the same title, which was number one produced in November One, 1944.
